Absolutely wonderful place. Quintessentially English Country House Hotel. Delightful team of people working there, we had drinks on the simple terrace, a sumptuous 5 course dinner with some delightful wines. Understated charm and elegance. Have been coming here for 30 years and never been disappointed.
Great top end place to stay if exploring Dorset, restaurant was brilliant and they allocated a specific room to our group so we didn't disturb other guests. Room in the annex was good although not super luxurious it had everything I needed. It had pleasant gardens but there wasn't much to walk to nearby you need transport
Plumber Manor is a very lovely place to stay. I recently spent three days over Christmas there with my parents, and I can not fault the whole experience. There is a traditional and very family oriented feel to the hotel and every member of staff, without exception, was so warm, helpful and professional. The food was exceptional and the service in the restaurant outstanding. Thank you to the team at Plumber Manor!
Absolutely fantastic. My wife booked us in for our village Christmas dinner. Superb on all levels. A beautiful place, the most attentive and kind staff and food to die for. Thank you for looking after us and making the evening special. Will definitely be back.

My husband and I spent three wonderful days over Christmas at Plumber. Having had the pleasure of visiting the manor on several occasions over the years, the festive season in this glorious setting was yet another happy time. The welcome we received was warm and gracious , the staff without exception were amazing , the food was delicious and the atmosphere very relaxed . One felt part of the family rather than a guest in an hotel.
Lovely location just outside of Sturminster Newton in an area that we have not explored. Quite old fashioned in its operation that many will find charming some might find frustrating. Food very good, both at breakfast and dinner with generous portions suitable for even the hungriest diner. We had some issues with our room which meant we had to move to another and then use the shower of yet another room. Thank god this wasn't at the weekend when they were full. One bonus is that the hotel has dog friendly rooms but not in main hotel. Need to leave fido in your room. Bring a toy!
What a wonderful quiet location in fantastic grounds with attentive staff and owner participation. The meals were excellent with great choice and wonderful entrées. Our stay was also good as a classic car tour was using the hotel, the highlight being a series 1 E Type roadster.
